Living in North Las Vegas

North Las Vegas is an incorporated city, separate from the City of Las Vegas, with its own mayor, council and police department. It was incorporated in 1946. The city runs from older neighborhoods near downtown Las Vegas to newer subdivisions in the north, near the 215 Beltway.

Nellis Air Force Base sits next to the city's eastern edge, and the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System's main medical center is in North Las Vegas. Around the city

Craig Ranch Regional Park is the city's large central park. The College of Southern Nevada has a North Las Vegas campus. I-15 and the 215 Beltway handle most commutes, and the Apex Industrial Park area to the north is a growing employment district.
